Teaching Artists for School Residencies and Classes & Camps
San Francisco Children’s Art Center is seeking Teaching Artists to engage children ages 2-10 in our school residency programs and at classes, camps, and workshops at our art studio in Fort Mason Center. Experience with process-oriented visual arts methodology is a plus, however, training will be provided. Spanish and Chinese bilinguals, BIPOC, and LGBTQ artists are strongly encouraged to apply.
Preferred Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of teaching artist experience with students in preschool or elementary school settings

A demonstrated commitment to and enjoyment of working with young children

Flexibility and willingness to learn Children’s Art Center’s process-oriented methodology

Excellent verbal, written, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills
-
Experience working with English Language Learners and special education populations

Ability to travel to school sites across San Francisco
-
BA, BFA (or equivalent experience) in visual arts
Compensation
Competitive pay ranging from $25 to $50 per hour, depending on experience and role. Compensation includes paid prep time for each class session.

Help Bring Art & Joy to San Francisco Children
We are seeking passionate, community-minded individuals who care about children, creativity, and equitable access to the arts. We are building a 12-member board, and currently have openings for 7 new members. We welcome two types of board members:
Expertise-Focused Board Members
These board members provide strategic guidance to support the hands-on committees and staff.
We are seeking individuals with experience in:

Nonprofit finance or accounting

Fundraising, major gifts, or donor strategy

HR / People Operations

Governance
-
Marketing / Communications
-
Community partnerships
What this role looks like:

Offer high-level advice in your area of expertise

Attend monthly or bi-monthly board meetings (30 min- 1 hour)

Join one committee and provide occasional strategic input

Support two fundraising pushes per year with light involvement

Partner with hands-on board members who execute tasks
This advisory role is perfect for professionals with valuable expertise but limited time. It requires 2-3 hours per month.
Hands-On Board Members
These members are essential doers who help execute key activities that keep our small nonprofit running smoothly. No prior board experience required.
Hands-on members support areas such as:

Marketing & awareness efforts

Administrative or operations tasks
This operational support role is perfect for parents, community members, creatives, early-career nonprofit professionals, retirees, and anyone who enjoys jumping in to help. It requires up to 8 hours per month in support.
