WEDNESDAY Side by Side

Our inquiry-based approach supports an exploratory process in this class designed for toddlers and young preschoolers who are 2-3 years old. Parents/ caregivers participate alongside their child, providing children support as their confidence grows in the art studio.

With a combination of open-studio time and guided activities, we’ll engage students in open-ended, process-oriented art experiences. 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional art activities will focus on problem-solving, critical thinking, and reflective dialogue between peers and teaching artists.

4-6 years old, grades TK&K

With a combination of open-studio time and guided activities, we’ll engage students in open-ended, process-oriented art experiences. 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional art activities will focus on problem-solving, critical thinking, and reflective dialogue between peers and teaching artists.

Connect your head, heart, and hands through drawing and painting. Through close examination of objects, we’ll learn how to see more deeply and capture what we observe. We’ll tap into our imaginations to draw and paint the things we wish to see in the world.

Spring Break Art Camp

6-10 years, grades 1-5

Artists in grades 1-5 are invited to join us in the art studio with Spring Break with creative activities inspired by the spring season, including drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking and more!

Art & Nature

Explore the beauty of the natural world through the lens of creativity! Combining studio time with outdoor exploration, we’ll transform our observations of nature into creative expressions through painting, sculpture, and mixed-media.

Young Artists' Workshop - Week 1

4-6 years, grades TK &K

A special half-day camp for children entering TK or Kindergarten in the fall (ages 4.5-6 years) . Each afternoon, we’ll have time for both open-studio exploration and guided art activities designed especially for developing creativity in younger artists. (4 days: no camp June 19)

Drawing & Painting / Architectural Sculpture

6-10 years, grades 1-5

In the mornings, connect your head, heart, and hands through drawing and painting. We’ll learn how to capture what we observe and use our imaginations to draw and paint the things we wish to see in the world. In the afternoons, channel your inner architect to build 3-dimensional structures and settings using foamcore, wire, wood, paper and recycled materials.

Land, Sea & City - Week 1

6-10 years, grades 1-5

Land, Sea & City is a special art camp that combines creative time in the art studio with walking excursions in the Fort Mason area where we will draw, paint and create art inspired by the natural and built surroundings in our unique location. (4 days: no camp July 3)

Inclusive Arts Workshop

6-10 years, grades 1-5

A half-day camp with a specially designed inclusive arts curriculum for neurodiverse students with moderate support needs. Drawing, painting, sculpture, and other creative activities will be offered with individualized support in a nurturing environment. Typically-developing siblings and friends are invited to enroll and participate alongside their neurodiverse peers.

DIY: Art from Scratch

6-10 years, grades 1-5

DIY means Do-It-Yourself! This week, we’ll make our own art materials that we’ll use for our artmaking. We’ll discover how to make our own paper, build our own drawing and painting tools, create custom rubber stamps, and much more!

Art & Science

Approaching visual arts through a scientific lens, we’ll explore basic science concepts through painting, drawing, sculpture, and more. Working both indoors and outside, students will observe and express the wondrous world around us.

Photo Explorers / Books & Boxes

6-10 years, grades 1-5

In the mornings, we’ll discover the art of photo mixed media with digital photography combined with drawing, painting, and collage. In the afternoons, characters, scenery and events come to life! We’ll create books and boxes as you develop imaginative plots and illustrations to tell your stories.

Printmaking / Sculpture

6-10 years, grades 1-5

10 am - 4 pm

In the mornings, we’ll create a variety of images and patterns with collographs, stencils, stamps, and block printing. In the afternoons, creativity comes in 3-dimensions as we build sculptures using paper, wood, wire, clay,and other materials.
