Class Schedule

How do classes work at SFCAC?

Ages 22 months to 6 years: Side by Side, Just for Twos, and Art Studio classes for toddlers and preschool-age children take on a weekly basis for the entire session. Partial sessions and drop-ins are available.  A mix of open-ended art activities will be provided each week.

Ages 5½ to 10 years: After School and Weekend classes take place weekly, Monday through Thursday afternoons and Sundays during the Farmers' Market. Monthly Saturday Workshops, offer another scheduling option. Become immersed in the scenic vistas of our unique Fort Mason campus, build your painting and drawing skills, capture your world with digital photography, tell real and imagined stories with words and pictures, and much more...

Note: classes with fewer than three students enrolled will be subject to cancellation. Please check this page regularly for the most current list of class offerings before dropping in for a single class.

Choose a date that works for you, and attend a scheduled class! Perfect for trying out a new class or for scheduling last-minute activities. **Class sizes are small - we highly recommend calling ahead to guarantee a spot for your child! **

CloseHoliday Card-making Family Workshop
$35 per adult/child pair; $15 each add'l child
Parents, caregivers, and children welcome! Take advantage of our studio space, resources, and guidance to make your very own edition of holiday cards. We'll use block printing, collage, and homemade stamps and stencisl to create unique and heartwarming holiday greetings. Snacks, beverages, and envelopes for your cards are included.

Our goal is to support children through an exploratory process, discovering what is possible and surprising about paint, playdough (we make it - new colors regularly) and new friends.

Verbal and visual thinking are creatively combined to explore and harness the elements of story-telling. Characters, scenery, and events come delightfully to life through children's words and pictures. We create books and boxes of different shapes, sizes, and textures as students develop imaginative plots and illustrations to tell real and imagined stories.
